Diversions into Insulated Tumblers

After my relatively inexpensive RTIC tumbler became so badly dented it no longer sat flat on my desk, I decided to look into available tumbler options, which seem to have relatively exploded since Yeti came onto the scene.

The Wirecutter investigation concluded the best was the Hydro Flask 22-ounce.  A good place to start. They also helpfully published their test results, of 11 of the top popular brands. Now, my criteria differs slightly from the Wirecutter criteria, in that I would like a larger size, and after 2 RTIC failures, something relatively durable.

One tumbler that performed well in the slush test but ended up not being recommended was the CamelBak. Wirecutter mentioned a controversial lid choice held it back. I generally like CamelBak, so I ordered one of those as well as the winner of the Wirecutter recommendation the Hydro Flask, both in the larger size (32-ish ounces).

Generally speaking, I love the Camelbak. The powder coating is excellent, the lid I found to be really great.
